Donald and Irene Willey, married January 1962, began a roadside stand in the mid-70's located in Townsend, Delaware. With only an airline baggage cart and tomatoes from Mom's garden - Willey Farms began. Wanting a legacy to pass on to their children, Don and Irene worked tirelessly, children in tow, to become 'Delaware's Finest (and largest) Farm Market. Now owned and managed by the Willey children, new farmers markets have been established in lower Delaware and Maryland.
Developing a love for South Carolina during many produce runs with my Mom and Dad - tomatoes from Beaufort, corn from Orangeburg, and melons from Statesboro, Georgia just over the line - I vowed to relocate right after college. After establishing myself and learning the landscape, myself and my husband Mike, settled in a little town called Dorchester, west of historic Charleston.
Established June 2019, Ray O Sunshine offers local produce, pickled delights, jams & jellies, savory pies, hanging baskets & bedding plants, along with gifts and garden items - this market is a sweet little gem right off of highway 78 in Dorchester, South Carolina - minutes from Saint George, Ridgeville, and Summerville!
Ray O Sunshine offers SO many eclectic goodies!
Spring means plants, plants and MORE plants! Bedding, hanging, indoor and succulents - sure to make your garden pretty and inviting!
We always have local, seasonal produce. We carry pickled okra, chow chow, bread & butter pickles, and pickled beets.
Be sure to pick up some local coffee from Coastal Coffee Roasters, apple and pumpkin butter and plenty of cider!
Sweet & savory pies are also VERY popular - tomato, squash, apple & pumpkin streusel pies plus beautiful crustless quiches!
